Under 24's

UNDER 24 INTERCOUNTY PRELIMINARY ROUND - NEWBURY

On Sunday 30th November 2008, 5 of Kent’s best under 24 Ladies and Men travelled to Newbury, Berkshire to represent their county in the Southern area preliminary round.

The result was a reversal of last year, as the Ladies qualified finishing in 2nd place, but regretfully the Men finished in 9th place, with only the top three in each division going on to the final at Banbury in February.

The Ladies were in fine form all day, Kirsty Belchem averaged 206 over the six games, with Jess Silvester close behind on 203.

The Men struggled against some very strong competition. They averaged 727 over the day which was 70 pins behind the third place qualifiers. Alex Thistleton averaged 193, Simon Skudder 192, and Kevin Franks 183.
