Kent U14’s competed in the County

Championships at Nuneaton on Sunday11th

October 2009. Coach’s for the Girl’s were

Gary Cullen and Ella Patrick, and for the

Boy’s, Richard Lambkin and Peter Leeke.

Also keeping an eye on things were John

Cooper and President of the JKTBA Kevin

Plewis. For the individual scores please see

the attached score sheets.

Even though Josie Clarke from Cliftonville

YBC was so poorly we didn’t think she would

be able to bowl. The Girl’s got off to a flyer

scoring a 663 series. Toni Brazier achieving a

225 (and subsequently the High Game

Trophy).  All the girls performed well with

Toni getting a 185 average and Frankie a 172

average. The girl’s did so well that they

retained the U14’s trophy which is current

pride of place at Chatham YBC with Amy.

Well done to our rookie County Coaches Gary

Cullen and Ella Patrick.

As for the Boy’s, we managed our best place

ever, 5th place. They were just 101 pins off

3rd place. They managed a respectable 3401

pin fall. All the boy’s did great, James

McMinn with a 192.4 average!!! Lathan and

Callum with 171 averages. Ryan did well also

considering he was called in at late notice

due to one of the other boy’s being

unavailable to bowl due to family

commitments.

I would note the commitment of all the

bowler’s but especially the parents who were

undoubtedly the noisiest parents at the bowl.

We even out OGGIED Essex! We even brought

along our own mascot, Gary Cullen’s son who

led the chorus for the team....even though

he is only 3’ tall!

Thanks to everyone involved who has made

this a very successful U14’s event for the

County of Kent.
