KENT GIRLS TEAM SUCCESS AT THE 2008

UNDER 16 INTER-COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Under 16 Inter-County Championships took place in Nuneaton on Sunday 20th April 2008.

Sadly, the boys team fell by the wayside this time but, hopefully, that will change next year. The team consisted of Tim Standell and Ashley Savage (Tunbridge Wells), Matthew Bassett and Aaron Rowe (Bexleyheath) and Chris Hunnisett (Whitstable). Ashley was top scorer for the boys, averaging 171.6 over the 5 games. He also achieved the highest game with a 225. Tim had the second highest average with 169.8. Tim's highest game was a splendid 215.

Last year the girls team finished in third place behind Derbyshire and Yorkshire, this year they won the event, regaining the trophy! Hannah Frost won the girl's high average of the tournament with a magnificent 206.2 over the five games. This is the fourth successive year that they have brought home the silverware!

The girls’ team was made up from Jessica Silvester from Cliftonville and four Whitstable girls; Hannah Frost, Hannah Smith, Chloe Monks and Katie Reeves.

Hannah Frost's 5 games were 170, 242, 195, 201 and 223 - well done Hannah!

Hannah Smith averaged 177.6 with 2 games over 200, a 205 and a 226.

Jess Silvester averaged 176.2 with a high game of 212.

Well done to all of the girls!
