The Olympic league season came to an end on Thursday 18th September 2008. The Highwaymen retained their title, giving them three wins in a row. The next four places could have gone to any of four teams depending on how they did on the last week. Bowlshack finished second moving up from third after winning two of their games. Mean Machine finished in third place after beating Climax 7-0. This dropped Climax from second place to fifth. Glaze-Rite won their match but missed out moving from fourth to third by half a point.
So, to recap, the final positions were:
1st Highwaymen
2nd Bowlshack
3rd Mean Machine
4th Glaze-Rite
5th Climax
The individual and team scratch highs were as follows:
Men's scratch series - Cliff Dew - 774
Men's scratch game - Steve Williams - 280
Ladies scratch series - Lucy Percival - 607
Ladies scratch game - Jan Hodge - 241
Peter Allen achieved the highest average of 203.89.
Jeff White was second with - 200.12.
Lucy Percival had the highest ladies average with 179.41
Jan Hodge was second on 175.47.
The Knockout winner was Peter Allen.
The new season starts 25th September.
